It can also be upgraded in the future for up to 10 Gb/s support as faster speeds become available. Don't worry if you don't have 2.5G internet speeds in your area yet. The Nighthawk cable modem is backward compatible with lower internet speeds and previous DOCSIS versions, allowing you to upgrade to faster speeds down the road without having to buy another modem. By owning your own cable modem, you can save money on paying monthly rental fees to your cable company. Please note that this cable modem does not have a built-in wireless router or telephone capabilities and will not work with cable bundled voice services.
